Cause of death of Dr. Adam Lazzarini’s wife pending, coroner’s report, lawyers at odds
According to Lexington County Coroner Margaret Fisher, the results of the official autopsy of Vanessa Biery, wife of Dr. Adam Lazzarini, are still pending. However, during the official autopsy, conducted on May 3, at MUSC in Charleston, no apparent evidence was found to indicate that Mrs. Biery’s death was natural.
Due to the lack of an obvious cause of death, further studies, including toxicology testing, are being performed in order to determine the definitive cause of Mrs. Biery’s death.
The autopsy results released by Dr. Lazzarini’s attorneys, which they have claimed indicate Mrs. Biery’s death was “most likely” due to natural causes, are not the official autopsy findings; rather, the autopsy they have referred to was a private autopsy.
Lazzarini was charged with involuntary manslaughter, earlier this month, after a man died of a gunshot wound at Lazzarini’s Cayce home on Oct. 9.
On May 1, EMS personnel were called to Lazzarini’s home and found his wife, Vanessa Biery, unresponsive. She later died.
