The South Carolina Department of Transportation (SCDOT) is working to replace the bridge on Rainbow Drive over Interstate 26 in Springdale. Lexington County Sheriff’s deputies on administrative leave for SLED investigation

Lexington County Sheriff Jay Koon has placed four deputies on paid administrative leave while SLED investigates the incident on I-26, in which an armed assailant was shot and killed. Placing deputies on administrative leave, like the SLED investigation, is standard procedure when there is an officer-involved shooting.
