Trees down, some flooding in West Columbia

The storm that hot West Columbia early Monday morning left trees down and lots of water. A tree fell across Morningside Drive and branches were strewn on Victoria Street, just off Sunset Boulevard. Half of Arehart Street, at the Sunset Boulevard intersection, was flooded.

Man who died in fire is identified by Lexington County coroner

Lexington County Coroner Margaret Fisher has identified the individual found deceased following a residential structure fire. The fire was in Pelion in the 500 block of Tindal Road. Fire closes portion of South Beltline in Columbia

Columbia Fire Department crews were on the scene of a working fire at a commercial property off of South Beltline Blvd near Shop Road, Thursday around 4 p.m.. South Beltline was closed to traffic near Shop Rd. Drivers should were asked to seek alternate routes.
