Whiskey Tango Revue and the Kenny George Band played the Rhythm on the River Concert, Sunday. The weather was great and the crowd had lots to eat and drink. It was a year after the October flood of 2015. Stolen Hearts with Chris Crompton plays next Sunday. beginning at 2 p.m. at the West Columbia Riverwalk Amphitheater.  

Attendance was good said John Banks, consultant for the Congaree Bluegrass Festival. Banks, who is also the Tourism Director at the Greater Cayce-West Columbia Chamber of Commerce, said estimate are that more than 3,500 visited the festival. Rhythm on the River is Sunday at 2 p.m. featuring Whiskey Tango Revue and the Kenny George Band. Music begins at 2 begin, until 5 p.m. It’s at the West Columbia Amphitheater, on Alexander Street, where it meets Meeting Street.

Brookland-Cayce defeated Pelion 49-6. The Bearcats held a 42-0 lead at halftime. Neither team scored in the third quarter. Pelion got on the scoreboard with about eight minutes left in the game.
