Lexington County deputies have arrested a man from Camden in connection to a deadly shooting at an apartment complex near Lake Murray.

Brian Vincemichael Ashford, 42, is charged with murder and possession of a weapon during a violent crime, according to arrest warrants.

“Based on their investigation, which included a review of items collected from the scene and mobile phone records, detectives determined Ashford traveled to Lexington County early Monday morning and shot Raynard Brewington to death not far from his apartment door,” Lexington County Sheriff Jay Koon said. “The two men had recent confrontations after Ashford discovered they both had a relationship with the same woman.”

Ashford was arrested Wednesday night and booked into the Lexington County Detention Center early Thursday morning
