C-WC Chamber presents Lexington 4 Schools Student and Educator of the Quarter Awards

The Greater CWC Chamber and CWC Cares Foundation had the pleasure of visiting our Lex4 Student and Educator of the Quarter award recipients at their schools last week to present their awards and scholarships! 

The award was presented by Christina Nelson with the CWC Chamber, CWC Cares Foundation Board members and award sponsors. The Student of the Quarter award is sponsored by Whetzel’s Automotive, Southern First and McMillan Pazdan Smith Architecture. Rob Whetzel, of Whetzel’s Automotive, joined the team to celebrate our award recipient. The CWC Chamber Lex4 Student of the Quarter is Alexander Brodie, senior at Swansea High School (full bio attached).

The Educator of the Quarter award is sponsored by Palmetto Citizens Federal Credit Union, Mid-Carolina Electric Cooperative and Caughman-Harman Funeral Home. Casey Cuthill and Sarah Buckner from Palmetto Citizens and CWC Board Member, Samantha Jeffords with Caughman-Harman joined the team for the award presentation. The Lex4 Educator of the Quarter is Elizabeth Lawson, teacher at Sandhills Primary School.

The Greater CWC Chamber and CWC Cares Foundation will continue their school visits in the coming week to celebrate a student and educator for Gray Collegiate Academy.

The mission of the CWC Cares Foundation is to support the students and educators in our community through service, fundraising and mentorship. Each quarter, the CWC Cares Foundation recognizes an outstanding student and educator in our community. Each award recipient receives $300.00 in scholarship to go toward educational expenses. 

The CWC Cares Foundation’s annual fundraising event – the Riverwalk Rabbit Run 5K is coming up soon on Saturday, April 4, 2026 with proceeds benefiting our students and educators. More info at strictlyrunning.com/cwcrabbit.
