C-WC Chamber Member Amick’s Guns offers gunsmithing, sales and training
Amick’s Guns is at 2335 Airport Blvd, in Cayce. It’s a family owned gun sales and repair business that opened in 1996. Carolina Tactical Training is also a part of Amick’s Guns.
“We offer all sorts of gun services,” said Brad Amick, owner. “If it has a trigger we will work on it.”
Amick’s Guns is a Greater Cayce-West Columbia Chamber of Commerce member, and a full-service shop and offers gunsmith services; general repair; refinishing, custom builds, and modifications. It employs seven gunsmiths and five instructors.
“We also have basic cleaning services and we do full restorations,” Amick said. The staff at Amick’s Guns is trained and educated in modern and traditional gun-related techniques.
Carolina Tactical Training provides realistic and practical training in order to instill knowledge, ability and confidence with firearms. It offers training courses for beginners, professionals, with public and private lessons. All age groups are served. Amick said an 82-year-old woman recently earned her Concealed Weapon Permit. “She hit 25-out-of-25 targets,” Amick said.
Carolina Tactical Training includes a simulator that is available for birthday parties and police training.
Who is patronizing Amick’s Guns?
Amick said the type of customer that comes into Amick’s Guns varies. Clientele includes hunters, competitive shooters and gun enthusiasts. And lately business is booming.
“There is an extremely large amount of gun-owners out there,” Amick said. “We’ve seen a big influx of new customers.”
Over the years, Amick said his shop has serviced more than 12,000 firearms. Amick’s Guns is also recognized as a leader in the industry. It is often referred to by other shops and stores throughout the region, state, and out of state.
