A three vehicle collision, involving a school bus, had all lanes of Mineral Springs Road closed, around 4:30 p.m. Friday, according to the Lexington Police Department

There were three students on the bus and were injured. Lexington County School District One is on scene working to reunite the students with their parents.

Traffic was being turned around at Old Carrington Place and Emerald Oak Drive. All lanes of Mineral Springs Road reopened around 5:30 p.m.

The collision was caused by the driver of the van who was following too closely and struck the…vehicle. The vehicle was pushed into the lawfully stopped school bus.

The driver of the van was issued a citation for Following Too Closely, which has a fine of $232.50 and four points assessed to the driving record.
