West Columbia City Council, Monday, tabled the final reading of the plan to rezone property for Brookland.
Brookland is the much-anticipated multi-million-dollar residential, retail, and commercial complex proposed for construction at State and Meeting streets.

The plan was tabled so Estates Co. and council can agree on the number of residential units that will be included in the development. Parking space is another issue that will be negotiated.
Some residents are concerned that traffic congestion will become a problem if there are too many residences. The developer and city officials are debating a plan that could have as many as 250 residential units or as few as 200.
Council will meet again on Jan. 5.
