Brookland-Cayce High School’s Cesar Bermudez Membreño was named the SC Player of the Year by the United Soccer Coaches. Membreño is the only athlete in South Carolina selected for the All-American list.

Membreño scored 30 goals and had 31 assists in leading the Bearcats to their 1st state title. He had 3 goals in BC’s State Championship win over Daniel.

Last week, Airport’s Jayla Jamison in track and field was named as the Gatorade Athletes of the Year.
