Brookland-Cayce upsets 5A Lexington
Brookland-Cayce beat Lexington Saturday morning in high school football. The game was played Saturday after it was postponed from Friday night. The final score was announced as 32-23, as BC recovered a kick and took it into the end zone for a TD with no time remaining. The final score was changed to 26 – 23 in BC’s favor.
Brookland-Cayce – a 3A classification team- jumped out to a 20 – 0 lead over Lexington Saturday. BC was up 20-14 at halftime.
The Wildcats scored a TD in the third quarter and led 21-20 at the end of the third quarter.
The Bearcats scored a touchdown early in the fourth quarter. A 2-pt. conversion attempt failed, and the Bearcats led 26-21.
The Bearcat defense held Lexington on a fourth-and-goal with less than 5 minutes left in the game. BC then got a crucial first down to keep control of the clock.
