Brookland-Cayce defeats Airport in rivalry game
Brookland-Cayce defeated crosstown rival Airport Thursday night at Airport by a score of 35-0.
Brookland-Cayce got a running TD from Benjamin Pugh and the extra point was good by John Allen Mower to give BC a 7-0 lead.
Naahzeikiel Mays caught a 31-yard TD pass from BC QB Tanner Staton to make it 14-0 in favor of the Bearcats in the second quarter.
Later in the quarter, Skylar King caught a TD pass from Staton to make it 21-0.
With 1:56 left in the third quarter, Mays snagged a 10-yard pass from Staton. The extra point was good to give BC a 28-0 lead.
The Bearcats mounted a drive that ended with a 13-yard touchdown pass to Mays. Mower’s kick was good again to give BC a 35-0 lead with 7:25 left in the game.
Airport, a 4-A team falls to 1-3 with the loss and travels to Midland Valley next week.
Brookland-Cayce, a 3-A power, is now 3-1 and plays at home next Friday for the first time this year versus Fox Creek.
