Bond denied for 2 Columbiana Centre Mall shooting suspects in custody

Bond has been denied for two suspects in the Saturday shooting at Columbiana Centre Mall that resulted in the injury of 15 people.

Marquise Robinson and Jewayne Price appeared before Judge Jessica Mangum in Columbia Municipal Court Tuesday morning to face charges in connection to the incident in which nine were shot and six people sustained injuries while trying to escape the shooting scene.

Robinson is facing nine counts of assault and battery of a high and aggravated nature, attempted murder, and unlawful carry of a handgun. A single assault charge carries a maximum penalty of 20 years in prison. An single attempted murder charge has a maximum penalty of 30 years.

Mangum said she was worried Robinson was a flight risk and a danger to the community when she denied bond.

Price was arrested Saturday on a weapons charge. He was granted a $25,000 bond Sunday. But a new hearing took place because of upgraded charges. Mangum denied bond for Price, too.

Columbia Police are also seeking a third suspect, Amari Sincere-Jamal Smith, 21. He is considered to be armed and dangerous. CPD and the US Marshals are offering a $10,000 reward for information that leads to Smith’s arrest.

Anyone with information regarding the shooting is asked to call 803-545-3525. CPD photos
