Lexington County Coroner Margaret Fisher has identified a body that was discovered on I-20 Westbound at MM 62 on the shoulder of the highway in the Columbia area of Lexington County on February 2, 2024 at approximately 07:15 A.M.

According to Fisher, Miss Stephanie Chanel Quintana, 22, of Columbia was found dead on the grassy shoulder by a passerby.

An autopsy has been scheduled for Monday, February 5, 2024 at MUSC in Charleston.

The cause and manner of death remains under investigation by the Lexington County Coroner’s Office and the South Carolina Highway Patrol MAIT.  The Lexington County Sheriff’s Department is also assisting in the investigation.
