Black Rooster opens in West Columbia at 5 p.m. Tuesday. It will “be in the “soft opening” mode,” this week according to a post on the restaurant’s Facebook page.

The French restaurant is
a brasserie or bistro-type establishment. It’s at the lower corner of the Brookland complex overlooking the scenic Congaree River, at West Columbia’s popular Riverwalk. It has a rooftop bar and offers a spectacular view of the Columbia skyline.

The rest of the post reads: “Soft opening” means some of the menus are still not fully implemented, staff is still training, and there are a million things on our lists of “things we still need to do”. However, that doesn’t mean you won’t have an amazing dining experience! We do not take reservations. Just stop by!”

Black Rooster was operating on an invitation-only schedule, last week.
