BC’s 1966 State Champion Football Team, Cheerleaders recognized at halftime

66-2
The 1966 players ran onto the field with the BC football team Friday night.

Brookland-Cayce’s 1966 State Champion Football Team, and Cheerleaders were recognized, Friday night, at halftime of the BC-Pelion game.

The team members, some who had not seen each other since high school, gathered before Friday’s game and shared their memories of their championship season 50 years ago under Head Coach Bettis Herlong. Herlong’s two sons and his daughter attended the game, too.

Some of the players wore their jerseys that they had saved since 1966. Each player and cheerleaders name was announced as they stood on the field.
