Barry Bolen to serve as Brookland-Cayce High School principal for 2022-23 School Year
Lexington School District Two announced Tuesday that Barry Bolen will serve as principal of Brookland-Cayce High School for the 2022-23 school year. He was serving as interim Lexington Two superintendent.
The announcement reads: “Mr. Bolen has a long history with Lexington Two, beginning in 1988 when he was hired as principal of Fulmer Middle School. Mr. Bolen was selected as principal of Brookland-Cayce in 1990 and remained in that role until he was appointed assistant superintendent in 1998. In 2000, Mr. Bolen was selected as the District’s superintendent, where he served until his retirement in 2008.
Board Chair Christina Rucker stated, “Mr. Bolen has served our district well in years past and in his current role as acting superintendent. I have enjoyed working with him, and several Trustees have worked with Mr. Bolen for many years as an employee of the District. We appreciate the stability, experience, and institutional knowledge he will bring to Brookland-Cayce.”
Barry Bolen said, “I am excited to return to Brookland-Cayce and I look forward to a successful school year.”
The District will begin a search for a permanent principal at Brookland-Cayce in Spring 2023.
