Autopsy finds that 2-year-old died of smoke inhalation, according to Lexington County coroner

Lexington County Coroner Margaret Fisher released the findings of an autopsy after the death of 2-year-old Remede Pridgen who died in the residential structure fire that occurred in the 500 block of Canal Drive in the Pelion area of Lexington County on Saturday..

Fisher states that the autopsy performed at MUSC in Charleston on Monday found the cause of death to be due to smoke inhalation.

The Lexington County Sheriff’s Department, SLED Arson, and the Lexington County Coroner’s Office continue to investigate.
