Augusta Road at Stoneridge Drive in Lexington was closed Monday morning after crash

TRAFFIC UPDATE – All inbound lanes and one outbound lane of Augusta Road/US-1 have reopened after a three-vehicle collision with injuries.

The wreck was caused, police said, by a driver failing to yield the right of way when turning onto Augusta Road from Stoneridge Drive. The at-fault driver in the Chevrolet Traverse fled on foot after the crash, and officers are investigating who he may be.

All lanes of Augusta Road (US-1) at Stoneridge Drive were closed due to a collision that occurred around 9:30 a.m. Monday, according to the Lexington Police Department. It was a three vehicle collision with injuries.

Police asked drivers to avoid the area. Inbound and outbound traffic was being turned around until the site was cleared. (LPD photos)
