1 A Art

Art on State is an opportunity for West Columbia restaurants and businesses to shine

West Columbia businesses have come to love Art on State.

The City of West Columbia will present the 6th Annual Art on State from 5:30 p.m. until 9:30 p.m.

Savage Craft

Friday (May 13) in the 100-200 Blocks of State Street, West Columbia.Artists will be painting live in the street, so it’s a great opportunity to see the city lights at night and witness art in the process of creation.

West Columbia’s Meeting Street Artisan Market will be open for a Special Night Edition in West Columbia’s Interactive Art Park at 425 Meeting Street.

Also featured at Art on State is live music by Seventy-Six and Sunny and Whiskey Run. There will be food and drinks from local restaurants, too. WECO Biergarten will be selling beer and wine.

It’s a chance for D’s Wings to show the restaurant to a whole new base of customers, who may not have been there before. Ds Wings is at 415 Meeting St, beside the Interactive Art Park.

Cafe Strudel is at 300 State Street. But on Friday, for Art on State, Cafe Strudel’s food truck will set up near the corner of Norfolk and State streets.

The staff at Savage Craft Ale Works expects a big night. There will be three bands playing.

“We are planning to make this show awesome rain or shine,” said General Manager Victoria Porter. “We will be bringing in a tent to cover the stage and the beer garden area in front of the stage. Art on State is a great community event and I think Friday is going to be a once in a lifetime moment for those who love the band and the songs Lit has forever etched in our memories. Up close and personal. This is going to be something special.”

Savage Craft band schedule:

  • 6:30 p.m. – 7:15 p.m. Don’t Panic
  • 7:45 – 8:30 p.m. Tuk Smith and the Restless Hearts
  • 9 p.m. – 10:15 p.m. Lit

In addition to Lit, Savage Craft is offering drink specials including several craft beers brewed on-site.
