The Cayce Police Department announced the arrest of Jaylan Lawrence, Saturday. The arrest was made during the early morning hours of Friday.

He was arrested on four burglary charges and sixteen charges of burning the land of another. The Cayce Police report stated: These charges stem from a thorough investigation into a series of fires set along the Cayce Riverwalk and surrounding commercial properties during March and April of this year.

This arrest is the result of the dedication and persistence of Cayce Police Department personnel, who worked tirelessly on this case. Their efforts were supported through close collaboration with the Cayce Fire Department and the South Carolina Law Enforcement Division (SLED).
