The WeCo River District Merchants Association and the Greater Cayce-West Columbia Chamber is hosting a ribbon cutting for Always Original Bakery, 501 Meeting St, Thursday, January 27th from 5PM-6PM.

The event will feature selected samplers, water, and hot beverages. The presence of elected officials and dignitaries is expected. 

Always Original Bakery was founded by Jay Dawson and George Grogan. They officially opened their bakery in October 2021.  Since then, Always Original Bakery has built their presence in the River District with partnerships: participating in philanthropic efforts with Primal Gourmet in feeding our healthcare workers during the COVID pandemic,  participating in Lexington School District Two’s Student Employability Training program (S.E.T.), and donating their excess baked goods daily for the free kitchen ministry at Turner Memorial AME Church.

Always Original Bakery offers custom cakes, cookies, breads, a catered menu for events/training workshops/meetings, and are building competitive custom dessert menus for local restaurants/cafés.
