Airport High School’s two free summer football clinics draw more than 250 participants
Airport High School’s two free summer football clinics drew 250-plus participants to the campus this month.
Both events – the Friday Night Lights Youth Camp and Moms Football Clinic – were coached by Airport Athletic Director and Football Coach Shane Fidler, along with his team of assistants and Airport football players. All participants took to the field at Eagle Stadium.
More than 230 youth ages 5-12 signed up for the youth football camp, where they learned football skills and got lessons in conditioning and weightlifting.
Nearly 40 moms signed up for the Moms Football Clinic, where they did workouts in the weight room, watched game film and drew plays, then held a short scrimmage.
Both clinics could become annual favorites.
“We are very pleased with how the community came out for our Friday Night Lights Youth Camp and our Moms’ Clinic,” Fidler said. “Both of these events were focused at connecting the Airport Football program and the people who support it.
We look forward to continuing and growing these events as we look to carry on the great tradition of Airport Football,” Fidler added. “There is no doubt that people in this area love their Eagles!”
