Airport High School wins 4A Upper State baseball championship

Airport played two game Wednesday, to th eone win the team needed to be crowned the Class 4A Upper State baseball champion. and punch its ticket to the state championship series.

In the first game South Aiken jumped out in front of the Eages 5-1 win. But the Thouroughbreads had to win two at Eagles Stadium.
In the second game, Airport scored early for a 4-0 lead, and then piled it on from there for an 11-4 victory and the Upper State title.

Airport advances to the state title best of three series. The Eagles will face Chapin Saturday in game one in West Columbia. Game two is Tuesday in Chapin.
