Airport High School to Resume Classes on a Regular Schedule Thursday

AHS fire
The scene at AHS Wednesday.

After an electrical fire interrupted classes at Airport High School earlier today, the school announces classes will resume Thursday on a regular schedule. The damage from the fire was contained to the 700 hall vocation wing. Classes that meet in the 700 hall will be temporarily relocated. When students arrive at school on Thursday morning, students who have scheduled classes in the vocational wing will be assisted by school personnel.
Airport High and Lexington School District Two Administration commended students and personnel for responding quickly and orderly during the emergency situation. We also want to thank Cayce Public Safety and Fire Department, the West Columbia Fire Department and Lexington County Fire Service for their quick response and command of the area today.
