Airport falls to Gilbert

Gilbert jumped on Airport early, Friday night, on the way to a 44-28 win over the Eagles.
Gilbert recoved a fumbled kickoff by Airport to go up 7-0. Airport answered with an8-yard-run by Nanders Laurence to tie it at 7 at the end of the first quarter.
Gilbert waited until the second quarter to pour it on. The Indians scored two TDs and kicked a field goal to lead 24-7 at the half.
Gilbert’s first touchdown of the quarter came on a 63-yard pass play. The Indians also scored on a 2-yard-run. Gilbert added a 32-yard field goal to close out the half.
Gilbert scored another TD in the third quarter, and so did Airport. The score at the emd of the third quarter was 31-14.
In the fourth, Gilbert scored a touchdown on a 12-yard- run and then a 43-yard pass play. The extra point was no good.
Brandon Caughman punched it in from 2-yards out to make it a 44-21 game. The Eagles closed out the scoring by recovering a Gilbert fumble in the end zone for a TD.
