Swansea High School Basketball star Danae McNeal was recognized at the S.C. State House, Tuesday.

“It was my pleasure to welcome Danae McNeal to the State House today, and present her with a resolution congratulating her for being named Gatorade Girls’ Basketball Player of the Year for SC,” said S.C. Sen. Nikki Setzler. “Well done, Danae,” Setlzler said. “You make Lexington County proud.”

McNeal’s other awards include: USA Today South Carolina Player-of-the-Year in 2018; South Carolina AAA Player-of-the-Year in 2017, 2018; and Class AAA All-State in 2016, 2017. She has signed to play college basketball for Clemson University.
