One person is dead after single-car collision in Lexington County, Wednesday.

 The crash happened around 7:10 a.m. Wednesday, on SC Highway 6, said Lance Cpl. David Jones of the SC Highway Patrol.

Nicolas Robert Fielding, 23, of Gaston, has been identified by Lexington County Coroner Margaret Fisher as the man killed in the incident.

Fielding was traveling east on the highway when his vehicle went off the right side of the road, struck a culvert, went down an embankment, and became submerged in a creek. He was transported to an area hospital where he was pronounced dead.

Fielding was not wearing a seatbelt and was entrapped indie the vehicle. An autopsy concluded that his death was due to drowning.

The South Carolina Highway Patrol is still investigating this crash.
