Coroner releases final autopsy results of Cayce doctor’s wife, found dead at home
Lexington County Coroner Margaret Fisher released the results of an autopsy performed on Vanessa Biery, wife of Dr. Adam Lazzarini. Her death was originally reported in May.
According to Fisher, the autopsy was conducted May 3, by the Department of Pathology and Laboratory Medicine at the Medical University of South Carolina in Charleston. It is the opinion of the pathologist that Biery died of an undetermined cause. The autopsy and toxicologic analysis did not reveal any findings of such significance that they could have definitively caused Biery’s death.
Due to the undetermined cause of death, the manner of Biery’s death is also undetermined.
Lazzarini was charged with involuntary manslaughter in May after a man died of a gunshot wound at Lazzarini’s home, the same location where Biery was found.
