Lexington County Coroner Margaret Fisher has identified the pedestrian who was killed after being struck by a tractor-trailer early Tuesday morning around 12:10 a.m. The incident occurred in the 4200 block of U.S. 178, in Leesville.
According to Fisher, Tommy Wade Goss, 47, of Lexington was in the road when he was struck by the truck. Goss was pronounced dead at the scene due to his injuries sustained. The driver of the tractor trailer was not injured.
An investigation by the South Carolina Highway Patrol is underway.
