A mother has been arrested in connection to the death of her baby boy, according to the Lexington County Sheriff’s Department.

Kaitlynn Busby, 23, is expected to be charged with homicide by child abuse, according to the LCSD. She will also face drug-related charges at a bond court appearance, Monday.

The baby who was killed has been identified by Lexington County Coroner Margaret Fisher as 5-month-old Kyzer Busby.

The incident happened in the 200 block of Meadowfield Road, according to the LCSD report. Investigators collected evidence and interviewed family members Sunday before making the arrest.
