Grind your greens, and get mulch back

Springdale Mayor Michael Bishop is reminding residents that here is a green way to dispose of your Christmas tree when it comes time to throw it away. Keep the Midlands Beautiful has created a program called “Grinding of the Greens” where you can bring your tree to multiple locations between December 26, and January 10, and have it properly disposed of and reused. Then on January 12, the South Carolina State Farmers Market will be giving away free mulch to the public from 8:30 a.m. until the mulch runs out.

“This is a wonderful way to recycle and reuse your Christmas trees! I’m attaching the pdf with more information,” said Bishop.
