Cayce – West Columbia Chamber of Commerce Holiday Parade of Lights postponed until Dec. 15
The Greater Cayce – West Columbia Chamber of Commerce 2018 Holiday Parade of Lights originally scheduled for Saturday (Dec. 8) has been postponed due to predicted adverse weather conditions.
The Holiday Parade of Lights will now take place on Saturday, December 15. The parade will start at 5:30 pm, Saturday, December 15th at the intersection of Holland Avenue and 12th Street in Cayce and end at the intersection of Meeting Street and 12th Street in West Columbia
The parade draws thousands of attendees each year with over 100 organizations providing more than 200 brightly lighted entries displaying Christmas spirit rolling through the two cities. The nighttime concept was suggested by local resident Diane Rials who saw a similar parade in Tennessee. The parade must limit registration to 100 organizations each year. “The floats get larger and more spectacular each year, I am always amazed at the incredible effort that this community puts into this truly special event” states John Banks of the Greater Cayce West Columbia Visitor Center.
The City of Cayce will be shutting down a section of 12th Street starting around 2:30 between Frink Street and Holland Avenue for the parade staging areas. Other 12th Street closings along the route will take place as the parade start time nears. Patrons can contact the Greater Cayce West Columbia Chamber of Commerce at 803-794-6504 for details or visit cwcchamber.com.
