Richland County Coroner Gary Watts released the name of the individual who died Saturday morning as a result of a shooting. It occurred in the 4000 block of Norman Street, in Columbia, around 5 a.m.

Ms. Jerri Lynn Sigmon, 25, of Dew Avenue of West Columbia, was transported from the scene by Richland County EMS to Palmetto Heath Richland Memorial Hospital where she died at 6:39 a.m. An autopsy indicated that Sigmon died from a gunshot wound to the head.
