Cayce Historical Museum’s Congaree Heritage Day of Unity Saturday
The Cayce Historical Museum’s Congaree Heritage Day of Unity is this Saturday! Bring the whole family for this exciting learning experience!
The Congaree Heritage Day of Unity will be held this Saturday, October 13th from 10 AM until 4 PM at the Cayce Historical Museum located at 1800 12th Street, behind Cayce City Hall. This free, family-friendly event will showcase Native American culture through dance, music, authentic craft demonstrations and storytelling.
Learn about primitive skills such as flint knapping and pottery making. Experience the central role of dance in native culture as Native Americans perform a traditional “Candy Dance” for children. There will also be free face painting!
In addition to all of the fun mentioned above, there will be reenactments from the Revolutionary War, the Civil War, World War I, and World War II. There will be free tours of the Museum which include an exhibit that features more than 8,000 arrowheads, one of the largest arrowhead collections in the US.
