Richland County Coroner Gary Watts has released the name of an individual who died Sunday night as a result of a shooting. It occurred, said Watts,  at 320 South Beltline Boulevard, Columbia,  around 8:30 p.m.

Brandon Jamal Blanding, 28, of Woodcrest Lane, Gaston, was transported from the scene by Richland County EMS to Palmetto Health Richland Memorial Hospital where he died at 9:51 p.m.  An autopsy indicated that Mr. Blanding died from a gunshot wound to the torso.

The Columbia Police Department is investigating the incident.
