Glen Conwell defeats Ned Tolar in Lexington County Council District 8 race
In Lexington County Council District 8, Glen Conwell had 52% of the vote, incumbent Ned Tolar had 31% and Charles Crouch had 18%.
The results are unofficial, and the last update in Lexington County, with 97 of 101 precincts counted.
Conwell thanked his supporters, and his family, for working hard to bring home the victory. Conwell said his daughters Rebekah, Sarah and Madison, along with wife Amy, put forth a lot of effort in the campaign. Conwell also said he will take the next six months, until he is study the issues and the district more closely so he will be prepared to serve.
“I will attend the county council meetings and learn the ropes and the different terms,” said Conwell, who most-recently served on the Lexington Two School Board.
In Lexington County Council District 2, incumbent Larry Brigham had 54% and challenger Jeff Sarokas’ had 28% percent and Frank Townsend’s 19 percent. More than 97% of the vote was in when the last total was posted late Tuesday night.
In Lexington County Council District 7, Beth Carrigg had about 52% of the vote and Lloyd Higbe was at 48%.
