The Lexington County Sheriff’s Department announced through a tweet that deputies responded to a bank robbery at First Citizens Bank on Sunset Boulevard around 10 a.m. Wednesday morning.

According to the LCSD Twitter account, crime scene investigators arrived around 10:30 a.m. to process the scene and look for any potential evidence inside the bank.  One customer was inside the bank when the robbery occurred, and no one was hurt.

There is an active search for the suspect, and the bank is remaining closed at this time, as the investigation continues.

UPDATE: As of 1 p.m. on Wednesday, the LCSD announced the arrest of the suspect, who was transported to the Lexington County Detention Center.  The cash taken was also recovered.
