Crowds came out Tuesday night for Taste on the River. It was a fundraiser for the West Columbia Beautification Foundation at Stone River. Some mingled in the main hall, but others stood under the stars beside the shimmering Congaree River that held the reflection of the light of the Columbia skyline.

“The event helped showcase the spirit of the West Columbia community,” said organizer Bill Mooneyhan. “The food was great and the support is  something special.”

There were stars inside too. more than a doze restaurants, including : Al’s Upstairs; Blue Marlin: Zesto of West Columbia; Grecian Gardens; Schlotzsky’s Deli; Cafe Strudel; Carolina Cafe; Delucca’s; Brookland Baptist Church; Parkland Cakes; True BBQ; Dupre’s Catering; and Hudson’s Catering.
