Funeral service for homeless veteran Dennis Reidy will include military honors

The Lexington County Coroner’s Office announced Tuesday that the funeral service for Mr. Dennis Reidy, the homeless U.S. Veteran recently found deceased in Lexington, has been scheduled.

Mr. Reidy’s funeral, with military honors, will take place at noon on February 23, at Fort Jackson National Cemetery.
the coroner’s office said Steve Goulet of American Legion Post 193 has been instrumental in the coordination of arrangements, Mr. Reidy will receive the posthumous respect that he earned through his sacrifice for our nation. Lexington County Coroner Margaret Fisher said she and her staff are honored to have assisted with these arrangements. Several Veterans groups, in addition to the American Legion, will be in attendance at Mr. Reidy’s funeral.

The outpouring of concern and generosity regarding Mr. Reidy has been tremendous. Fisher’s office expressed her appreciation. She encourages the public to attend to pay respect to Mr. Reidy as he is laid to rest. Another indigent U.S. Veteran from Lexington County, Mr. Raymond Gerard, will also be honored and interred at the service.
