A man is dead after he fell while doing construction work on a building in the Lugoff area of Kershaw County, Friday. West Columbia man dies in fall in Kershaw County

Larry Durney, 45, of West Columbia is the man identified by Kershaw County Coroner David West as the victim of the accident.

“He had his safety lines on but he had taken it loose to move down some, and when he did, the wind blew and the tin that he was putting on the roof flew up and knocked him off,” stated West.

Durney fell about 30 feet to the ground. He was transported to Kershaw Health where he was pronounced dead there, West said.
