Town of Lexington plans for multi-county industrial parks, 155 jobs, $11.4 million investment
The Town of Lexington announced Monday the addition of two Multi-County Industrial Parks that will be inside Lexington’s municipal limits. The sites are on Brickyard Road and Industrial Road. The park will include Tidewater Boats and Electro-Spec, both who will be contributing major economic investments to our community.
Tidewater Boats, which began in Lexington County in 2006, currently employs 160 people. The new expansion will add 100 jobs and an $8.3 million investment. The company designs and manufactures 24 models of saltwater boats.
Electro-Spec was founded in 1959 and specializes in high-quality and high-reliability gold, silver, nickel, copper and its proprietary Tri-M3 plating for major industries including: Aerospace, Medical and Automotive. It is the first expansion outside of Electro-Spec’s headquarters in Indiana. The company anticipates bringing 55 jobs to the community, along with an investment of $3.1 million.
“It is unprecedented to see Industrial Parks located inside municipal limits,” Mayor Steve MacDougall said. “The Town of Lexington is fortunate to not have one, but two, Multi-County Industrial Parks that will generate more than an $11 million investment along with the creation of 155 jobs to serve our community.”
