Lexington County coroner identifies 21-year-old man killed in I-20 crash
Lexington County Coroner Margaret Fisher has identified the individual who died due to a single-vehicle accident on Saturday evening.
The crash occurred around 7 p.m., on Interstate 20 eastbound near mile marker 60 in Lexington County.
According to Fisher, Mr. Wyatt Dakota Duval, 21, of Lugoff was killed after being ejected from the vehicle in which he was a passenger.
The driver of the vehicle left the roadway to the right and over-corrected, causing the vehicle to overturn. Duval, who was not wearing a seatbelt when the accident occurred, died at the scene due to injuries sustained.
The driver, who was wearing a seatbelt, was transported to an area hospital with non-life-threatening injuries. An investigation by the South Carolina Highway Patrol is ongoing.
