Damage reported on I-26 in Lexington County after heavy rain, Monday

A heavy rain on Monday afternoon may have damaged part of I-26 in Lexington County.

An asphalt defect on I-26 eastbound was reported via Twitter by Trooper David Jones of the South Carolina Highway Patrol. The damage reported is near Mile Marker 112, between the Airport Boulevard and US-1 exits.

The South Carolina Department of Transportation is on the scene to repair the damage. Part of the road has been closed, with only  one lane open.
