Some people in West Columbia will be going to the polls Tuesday (June 20.)

Sandra Harley, widow of the councilman Dale Harley, will face Mike Green in a West Columbia special election Tuesday. The race is for the District 1 seat on West Columbia City Council. District 1 is in the Platt Springs area of West Columbia.

Harley said: “Being on Council is not about you. It is about the good of the city and its people. Dale believed this and I believe it also.” Green said he is opposed to tax hikes and he promises to get a bridge on Wilton Road fixed.

The vote Tuesday is to fill the remainder of his term. That term ends in Nov.
Polls open Tuesday at 7 a.m. and close at 7 p.m.
