Shane Thackston, former principal of Springdale Elementary School, has died.
The news of Thackston’s death was delivered Wednesday morning to Thackston’s colleagues in Lexington School District Two.
Thackston took a short leave from Springdale after suffering severe pain in his head in January 2015. He was back at at school, in his principal’s role by February of that year. In the time he was out, Thackston was treated for vascular mass complications.
He reported feeling fine when he came back. But in the next two years, his health declined until his death.
