Richland County Coroner Gary Watts released the name of the individual who died as a result of being involved in a two-vehicle collision yesterday at 7:30 p.m. on Garners Ferry Road at McEntire Air Base, Eastover.

Maurice Shaw, 44, of Tufton Court, Cayce, was the driver of a motorcycle that was struck by a car.  Shaw was transported by Richland County EMS to Palmetto Health Richland Memorial Hospital where he died at 8:32 p.m.  He was not wearing a helmet at the time of the incident.  An autopsy indicated that the cause of death was due to head trauma.

The SC Highway Patrol is investigating the incident.
