It came down to Clemson scoring a touchdown with one second left on the clock, Monday night. With that score, the Tigers defeated Alabama 35-31, to become college football’s National Champion.

Clemson had trailed most of the game, before taking a lead in the fourth quarter, only to lose the lead again. But the Tigers started a drive with just over two minutes remaining – ending with the TD to win.

West Columbia was represented by Bill Mooneyhan at the National Championship Game in Tampa. Before the game said he had a “real good feeling” I think we are going to win it,” he said from Tampa. Mooneyhan is pictured with two other local men, Roger Hurt of Cayce and Dub Phillips. Bill Mooneyhan Jr. is at the game too
