Lexington County Coroner Margaret Fisher has identified the person who was killed on Thursday in a two car accident. The crash occurred at Sunset Boulevard and Ginny Lane in Lexington County at approximately  11 p.m.

Coroner Margaret Fisher said Roger Wayne Johnson, 75, of Cayce was killed in the accident.   Johnson was transported by Lexington County EMS from the scene to Lexington Medical Center where he was pronounced dead from the injuries he sustained in the accident shortly after arrival.

The driver of the other vehicle was transported to LMC with very minor injuries and was taken into custody for DUI at the hospital by authorities.  A passenger in Johnson’s vehicle was transported to Palmetto Health Richland and is reported to be in stable condition. Mr. Johnson was wearing his seatbelt at the time of the accident.

An autopsy performed on Friday showed the cause of death to be blunt force trauma to the head.

The South Carolina Highway Patrol continues to investigate the incident.
