The Arts Unlimited class of Saluda Academy for the Arts ( SRAA) brought down the house at the S.C.

The performing arts troupe of third, fourth, and fifth-grade students performed a salute to Fort Jackson and the military on the WLTX stage.

“These students have worked hard,” said Kayla Jennings SRAA’s Dance Teacher, “It’s good to see them have a little bit of fun.” She said it is the first time many of the students have ever sang before an audience.

Gale McLeod, SRAA music teacher also said the students earned their time in the spotlight.

“They have shown a great work ethic, good behavior, interest and dedication,” she said. McLeod said the students have a respect for the sacrifice of the members of the military.

Other SRAA teachers with Arts Unlimited are Stephanie Walker and Rachel Carter.

McLeod said Hurricane Mathew impacted rehearsal time for the students, but parents and teachers worked diligently to be prepared to be good ambassadors for SRAA and Lexington 2.

The performance was between 2 p.m. and 3 p.m.

SRAA’s Arts Unlimited class was invited to sing by the Columbia Chamber of Commerce. Arts Unlimited had also performed during a Save Fort Jackson in 2014.
